‘I am the first pig to fly.’ – November 4th, 1909. The first historically recorded flight of a pig took place on British soil, at Leysdown in Kent on November 4th, 1909. The pig was carried aloft by J.T.C. Moore-Brabazon, later the First Lord Brabazon of Tara, in his personal French-built Voisin aero plane.

This 102 yr old man drove the same Rolls Royce for 82 years — A 1928 Rolls Royce. Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA ) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Piccadilly-P1 Roadster from his father, brand new – as a graduation gift in 1928.
He drove it up until his death last year … At the age of 102! He was the oldest living owner of a car that was purchased new. Just thought you’d like to see it. It was donated to a Springfield museum after his death.
It has 172,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years). 172,000 miles not kilometers!!

The Great Human Statue of Liberty
The Human Statue of Liberty. 18000 men were used for this photo! Iowa, 1918. The day on which the photograph was taken was extremely hot and the heat was intensified by the mass formation of men. The dimensions of the platting for the picture seem astonishing. The camera was placed on a high tower. From the position nearest the camera occupied by Colonel Newman and his staff, to the last man at the top of the torch as platted on the ground was 1,235 feet, or approximately a quarter of a mile. The appended figures will give an adequate idea of the distorted proportions of the actual ground measurements for this photograph:

Right arm: 340 feet.
Widest part of arm holding torch: 12-1/2 feet.
Right thumb: 35 feet.
Thickest part of body: 29 feet.
Left hand (length): 30 feet.
